Privacy Policy
This explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website or book a dinner, why we need it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We've kept it in plain language.
Who we are
Meet & Muse hosts curated dinners for small groups of people in Abuja. We decide how your personal information is used, which makes us the data controller under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. You can reach us any time at meetandmuse.com@gmail.com.
What we collect
We only ask for what we need to run your dinner.
- When you book. Your name, WhatsApp number, email address, age range, gender, the dinner you'd like to join, and your answers to our matching questions (for example your interests and what you're hoping to get from the evening).
- When you pay. Selar handles your payment and shares your name, email, the amount and the payment status with us. We never see or store your card details.
- When you contact us. Whatever you choose to send us by email or WhatsApp.
- When you browse our website. How you use the site, such as pages viewed, clicks and scrolling, your device and browser type, and your approximate location based on your internet connection. See Cookies and tracking below.
- At the dinner. We sometimes take photos of the evening.
Age range and gender are used only to help balance each table. We don't ask for anything more sensitive than that, and you can choose "Prefer not to say" for gender.
How we use it
- To arrange your dinner. Matching you with a table, booking the restaurant and sending you the venue and other details. We need this information to provide the service you've booked.
- To take payment and handle refunds. Confirming your seat, processing refunds and credits under our cancellations and refunds policy, and keeping the records the law requires.
- To keep dinners safe and comfortable. Reviewing bookings before we seat anyone, and acting on any concerns raised by guests. We do this because we have a legitimate interest in making every table a good experience.
- To improve our website and measure our ads. Understanding which pages work, where people get stuck, and which Instagram and TikTok ads bring people to us.
- To share moments from our dinners. We ask before posting a photo where you can be clearly recognised, and we'll take it down if you ask.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for anything unrelated to Meet & Muse.
How long we keep it
- Booking and matching answers: while you're coming to our dinners, and for up to 24 months after your last one, so we can seat you well if you return. After that we delete them.
- Payment records: for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Website analytics: for as long as each provider keeps it. For example, Microsoft Clarity deletes session recordings after 30 days.

Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
- Correct anything that's wrong or out of date
- Delete your information
- Stop or limit how we use it, or object to a particular use
- Send your information to you or another service in a common format
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it (for example for photos)
Email meetandmuse.com@gmail.com and we'll reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm it's really you before acting on a request.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Cookies and tracking
Our website uses a few tools that set cookies or similar technologies in your browser:
- Microsoft Clarity records how visitors move around the site (clicks, scrolling and page views) so we can improve it. Personal details shown on our booking pages are hidden from these recordings.
- Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel tell us when someone who saw our ads visits the site, starts a booking or completes a payment.
- Tally may set cookies needed for the booking form to work.
- Your browser also keeps the name and WhatsApp number from your booking form on your device, so we can add them to your payment receipt message.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage ad tracking in your Instagram, Facebook and TikTok ad preferences. The booking form still works if you block tracking cookies.
Keeping it safe
We use reputable providers with strong security, protect our accounts with two-factor sign-in, and only the Meet & Muse team can see booking information. Our website doesn't store your details itself, and it never handles card numbers.
Who Meet & Muse is for
Our dinners are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think someone under 18 has booked, please let us know and we'll delete their details.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date below. If the change is significant, we'll tell you directly.
